GET READY TO SUPPORT NATIONAL FERTILITY AWARENESS WEEK

GET READY TO SUPPORT NATIONAL FERTILITY AWARENESS WEEK

National Fertility Awareness Week is Monday 30 October- Sunday 5 November 2017. The Week culminates in the Fertility Show and we’re encouraging all our visitors to get involved. So, save the date now and please join us in helping all individuals facing fertility issues.

National Fertility Awareness Week aims to raise awareness and change perceptions of fertility issues, as well as raising funds to help us provide much-needed support for the 1 in 6 couples, and others, in the UK who struggle with infertility. This year the charity will be running a number of exciting initiatives including:

#IVFGoldStandard

After 40 years, it’s time for #IVFGoldStandard for all across the UK. Help the charity to create an IVF Thunderclap to campaign for equitable access to NHS fertility treatment. Let’s speak together and we can make change happen. https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/57902-ivfgoldstandard-across-the-uk. Fertility Fairness will also be releasing 2017 NHS IVF funding data: revealing the best and worst places to live in the UK and campaigning for #IVFGoldStandard everywhere.

#IVFis40

It’s 40 years since 10 November 1977 when Louise Joy Brown – the world’s first IVF baby - was conceived. We will be commemorating the anniversary by sharing #IVFis40 facts, milestones and memories, including when IVF does not work. #IVFis40

#FertilityFellas

Men are half of the fertility equation, yet far too often their voices are not heard. So, the charity has set up a #FertilityFellas online. The charity will also be releasing the first ever qualitative survey of men’s experience of infertility from Fertility Network UK and Leeds Beckett University, and launching a new leaflet Men Matter supporting men facing infertility.

#Talk Fertility

Talking about fertility is one of the best ways to raise awareness, break taboos and shatter myths about being unable to have a baby. That’s why #Talk Fertility is at the heart of National Fertility Awareness Week 2017. The charity wants to get people talking about the real facts about fertility – and not the myths and misconception. Getting people talking about the real facts about fertility, plus advice on #FertilityEtiquette: what to say, what not to say and how best to provide support to anyone experiencing fertility issues.

#100FertilityFaces

The charity’s fundraising “ask” is for #100FertilityFaces to each try to raise £100 for Fertility Network UK. Please sign up today to be one of #100FertilityFaces.

Fertility Network UK is the UK’s leading patient-focused fertility charity and needs help to continue to provide its free support services to anyone affected by fertility issues. The charity does not receive any guaranteed funding: please donate what you can; it will make a difference. Last year our free Support Line dealt with almost 4,100 enquiries and we want to do even more!  Text NFAW17 to donate £5.

Your donations will help FNUK  to:

  • campaign for better access to NHS fertility treatment
  • support and advise all those affected by fertility issues
  • continue to run and extend our free Support Line service
  • increase our regional network of staff to provide direct local support
  • extend our online services and peer support groups
  • recruit and train more volunteers to help you
  • increase the support services for those facing the challenges of childlessness
  • continue to raise awareness of the impact of infertility and the need for fertility education to help protect and maintain future fertility
