Prof. Simon Fishel
Recognised for his pioneering work in IVF, especially in the fields of microinjection technology for male infertility, Simon has been active in the field for over 30 years, researching at Cambridge with Professor Robert Edwards before the birth of the first IVF baby. Having dedicated his working life to research and the treatment of infertility, he is an acclaimed international scientist. He was previously Reader in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and was awarded a Personal Professorial Chair in Human Reproduction at the University of Nottingham. Simon formedCARE in 1997 with the aims of making IVF treatment more widely available and maximising success rates for those seeking treatment.
Simon was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University in 2009 for his outstanding contributions to the field of fertility treatment.
